Welcome, wanderer!

First post! Exciting!

I’m A. Zaykova, and I write science fiction, fantasy, and poetry (among other things).

My debut novel, Galaxy Grifter, is coming out with Orbit Books on June 3, 2025, and several of my short works have been published in magazines and anthologies. I also love making bookish and character art—and even take commissions over on Ko-fi.

Before diving into full-time creative chaos with a dash of freelancing, I worked in communications and PR. These days, I’m a neurospicy girly, an autoimmune warrior (because the only thing that can take me down is my own body attacking itself), and a general weirdo trying to survive as best as I can.

I live in (mostly) sunny Australia with my family, including our rescue cat, Toni, who regularly outperforms all my other posts on social media. She knows she’s a main character.

I’m a lifelong reader of science fiction and fantasy, and passionate about supporting other authors—whether they’re trad-pubbed, indie, or just starting out.

I created Rogue Transmissions to document my journey as a debut author, share some creative writing, and post both original and fan art. If you’re into rawness, space crime, and watching someone being consistently inconsistent while trying to keep their cat off their keyboard—welcome aboard.
